Kimberly is a dedicated, enthusiastic educator with over twenty-five years of experience in middle and high school English classrooms--where she twice earned the title Teacher of the Year. She obtained her BA at Boston College and her Masters at Rutgers University. In 2015, Drew University awarded Kim a Doctor of Letters degree with a concentration in Writing; her dissertation was a full-length historical fiction novel, passed with distinction, that is currently optioned by a screenwriter. She has edited fiction and non-fiction books, short stories, and articles and especially loves the challenge of helping rising seniors craft their college essays and improve their standardized test scores so they can achieve their dreams. One of Kim's strengths is building excellent rapport with students, which makes it easy for them to set and attain their short and long term goals and gain confidence in any area of the language arts. "I build rapport while earning respect, tailor the work to the specific student for maximum and efficient improvement, and have fun."

"My daughter was matched with Dr. Kim for SAT tutoring relative to the writing and language portion of the exam. Dr. Kim has been extremely helpful and in 8 short weeks, her score improved by 50 points on her most recent diagnostic test . She continues to be extremely helpful and provides personalized guidance such as designed grammar exercises to help my daughter improve in her weakest areas. Additionally, she has provided her with key tactic skills to help her improve on reading skills. Overall, she is giving my daughter the confidence coupled with the skill set needed to succeed on the SAT. As my daughter continues to work with Kim, I know she will continue to provide valuable input regarding preparation strategies as well as the necessary guidance required and will continue to see an increase in her scores." - Parent, NJ
